great,wow etc. in comments
some pic's are really bad mainly tog fault
why are they not added.
maybe MB should remove this option
how do you feel? or are you worried you will not be added as friend

Hey, i comment when the pic is so bad it should be removed, or just to advise them on how they should have done it better. (in my opinion) as am sure a few other folk on here do as well.
I honestly cant give a toss if people dont want to add me as a friend because i have pointed out the error in their ways. Besides some folk on here think that their work is so great that no one should be giving them bad comments. Most though, do accept crit. can u imagine the amount of comments on here if everyone had to comment on the bad pics?? MB would be overloaded.
You will find that if its a good pic then generally it should get a few noteworty comments. do you really care though? You obviously like the pic otherwise you wouldnt have posted it on here.
By the way it doesnt really help if you post 3 pics of the same model in the same dress with the same makeup and the same lighting. Looks like you just trying to fill out your port.
and one more thing, u would be amazed at how better you pics would look if u did use PS. They are digital images and should be processed. Unless u shoot in jpeg, then slightly different story. No offense.

Is there ANY reason for a studio photographer to shoot in JPG, ever?

Adding a friend to your profile, does it really add value to your MB profile like facebook or the other sites. Did an experiment to see what value it could add, other than profile views not really a lot. IMO.
As for comments, I comment on a pic when it tells me a story, not always possible but I try.

As AlecD said, MB has a history....
Crits were not taken very well and so most people choose not to say anything except maybe when they really like something, ... or just sucking up...

Here is the reality of MB (according to Christo). People only say "great, wow etc" because very few people on here want hard crits. they simply dont like hearing that their work is crap. Rather than waste my time critting an image for which I am going to get a "well fuck you what do you know" in return, I only comment on images that wow me.

Adding friends has value on MB. People look at your profile. They look at how many friends you have, how many profile views you have, how many comments on pics and how active you are in the forums. this creates an image of popularity which in turn creates the image of being good at what you do. Perceived skill is sometimes more valueble than actual skill and if you have loads of both your a winner.

I think the value in honest crit is that it really helps those who DO want to improve.

By the amount of blindingly bad images posted on here (usually by the same set of GWC's) , it's obvious that beauty, and any idea of what makes a pleasing image, is in the eye of the beerholder.

What does leave me slack-jawed, is when perfectly-sighted, generally lucid people accept invitations by the gwc who has attached himself to them, and go " wonderful pic. Sooo nice !"
JC! , the ghoulish pits where the eyes should be, and midday "natural-lighting" have some artistic appeal? The washed-out cellphonecam-type shot is in vogue ?

Then, another mildly astonishing phenomenon. The girls who watch these naturally-lit masterpieces go up on MB, and just "let it go" without clamouring for the head of whomever is responsible for such a travesty. We see this on Facebook all the time, with fake "promotions companies " fleecing girls who know damn well their forte could be Radio, but it remains a very odd practice on MB.

If people continue to be pressured into saying nothing, then who can blame new entrants into the modelling world thinking that such poor photography is par for the course.

Giving critic should not be confused with giving a bad comment, for example.
If you comment "your image looks crap" that comment I won't allow, but if you comment "the lighting would have looked nicer like this or like that", or "change this to that" that I will allow and respond.
I have been criticed twice and both have added value to my work.

Maybe MB should offer a section to those that want proper crit and for those that don't it has a pre-filled "wow/great etc".

Ok so your picture is "wow". I know it, you know it, we all know it. Must I really stroke your ego even further by explaining exactly WHY it is wow?

Dude it the image is "wow" then it is "wow". I'm not going to unnecessarily nitpick a perfectly good image just cause you need a longer comment.

Be saitsfied with the recognition that you get.
