Luckily Erika, I can compliment you on that. The first time we worked together, you brought a friend (girl) with, since then you did not see the need to bring anybody along (Maybe because I am harmless).

For that we will work together again and again in future.

My work explores melancholy, sensuality, identity, doubt, metaphors, relationships, ... I get very deep into the model's psyche pursuing that one perfect moment where mood, pose, expression, and camera line up.
100% of bfs get jealous and they always interrupt the journey.

Escorts are fine for bikini snapshots, but for what I do it's like trying to write a great poem with the tv on.... you end up with words but they're empty of meaning.

Pursuing that one profound moment is very similar to seduction or psychotherapy; life's too short for shallow relationships.

My rule is no boyfriends/mothers/fathers for just the reason Lilje has given...I don't take snapshots, I work to create an image with the model which captures a moment in time which is essentially when something "special" has happened between myself and the model on an emotional level. Onlookers are not welcome...

I suggest to models to research the photographers they plan to work with before the time. Google them, contact models who worked with them. If the photographer is dodgy, you'll find that out very quickly...

bit OT:

what many people often overlook is the safety of the photographer. We often are faced with strange people who we not comfortable with.

In this country location shoots should always have some form of security, especially when in a public place, your chances of getting attacked and robbed by a 3rd party are far greater than any dodgy "photographer" groping you.

most dodgy "photographers" are harmless perverts, they won't hurt you. they tend to pray on new inexperienced models and 9/10 get what they want, which is an interaction with a hot model who in normal life they would never even talk to.

I don't think a chaperone is necessary, I think common sense in choosing who you shoot with is necessary and if you feel uncomfortable, walk away.

My problem is that most of my shoots are extremely far for me to drive - between 30 minutes and an hour - and involves me driving there or back in the dark. As a young female in this country, it's far too dangerous. Even bringing another female friend along does not really give me reassurance. I have a very small group of friends who I trust, most of which are at uni or still in school, so they can't come with. The only person who can accompany me to a shoot in the evening is my boyfriend, who is also my best friend

My problem is my boyfriend has a job, and life of his own, doesnt really have time to follow me around everytime i have a shoot. If need be I will get him to drop me off, meet the tog- make sure it seems "legit", also Ill let him and two other people know where I am (the exact address), who I am working with, how long I'm supposed to be there for and when I'll be back- also phone call updates if its a long shoot to let them know im fine :) tends to work. Working models need to be independent to a certain degree.

Its a job, do you take your bf to work with you.

That is bottom line. It boils down to professionalism. Ive gone to shoots where ive been told chaperone welcome... Uhm, no thank you :) -

Maybe on simple TFCD, lets screw around terms Id be more lenient towards the fact (I still wouldn't take one with) that its more ok to take someone as you are not wasting time / money, by not delivering your best when its expected of you. They may not interfere physically, but it goes beyond that.

No, not to a degree. They need to be independent, full stop.

I like your boyfriend.

. They may not interfere physically, but it goes beyond that.

and therein lies the rub. he could sit in a corner and not say boo, but he still influences the shoot, even if you don;t know it. Been there, done that, got the kak shots.

@Lilith, don't you think it is time to set him free? So hard to let the first one leave the nest?
