I just revived my f2.8 40mm pan-cake lens aka "the shorty forty". This little gem is incredible. Its the size of a body cap and performs astonishingly well.

got it for video but after my initial test shoot I will most certainly be using this lens for stills. Will upload some results soon. Matt

I've seen some pretty ambivalent reviews about it....

MTF charts look impressive. Canon 40mm F2.8 was a big surprise to me (no pun intended). I did not expect that it beats the sharpness of already excellent Voigtlander 40mm F2.0
