I wouldn't describe them as "quality results"

Derek, you are out of line. Who made you a god to have such a dismissive opinion about anybody else? It is not you that are paying for the shoot, is it? The 8 people that are paying are very happy wit h the quality of his work.

As per my post regarding Christo's work, in contrast to his art, I can also say your work is not appealing to me. Just because I do not like your style of photography, does not make you not good in what you do.

There is no need to get personal and make such comments about any other photographer.

developing your craft, not churning out mediocre, unmemorable fodder.

Derek in all fairness how many protographers do you know that constantly shoot memorable work? Mediocre, unmemorable work is commercial bread and butter. Or so i've heard lol

So True. I recently had an ad on a billboard with one of the worst images from the shoot. But the client and the agency loved it. So Maybe I don't know as much as I thought.......

While I agree with you, this proves Derek's point.

THIS is memorable.

This, however, is just careless and creates the impression of a general lack of pride in his work.

It took me 6 months to learn what i know now

I've been shooting almost 20 years and all I know is how much I do not know.

As Kieth richards said: "6 strings this way, 24 frets that way, and in a lifetime you'll never know all its secrets"

I cannot shoot more than 3 models a day. 4, tops. I'd prefer 2 x 4 hour sessions. Then I'll get 5-7 "keepers".

You do not have 20 years of experience, you only have 2 years experience, 10 times.

And besides, who shoots film any case these days?

Great statement, bad assumption. That would assume I've nto made progress in 20 years. I won;t say that - but what I will say I learned more the last 5 years than in the 1st 15.

For all the haters; please like my Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/DeucesWildPhotography and let's see in 3 months if your opinion changes

You know now that I think back on it. The best advice that I have ever gotten were from complete diots who were so busy staring into their supposed greatness that they were too blind to see my potential and how awesome my work was.

Time tought me that in fact I was the complete idiot for staring into the chip on my shoulder so much that i was too blind to see the wisdom in the words of those who have already been where i am.

Despite what the media tells you, you are not as unique that you cant learn from the experiences of others.
