Tell me which tog or MUA would take the worst model they can find and then pay them lots of cash, and then use those images in his porty?

You would be surprized.

Bottom line, I have never seen a successful model that did not look good when ready to shoot.

Most people look "hot" just before shooting, or when "ready to shoot" that is the main idea. To get everything as flawless as possible, so again I disagree :)

Ive seen some "hot" models, some, are naturally beautiful, others if they not Photoshopped or professionally done up, they simply not that "hot" - would someone still pay plenty of cash for them. I think so :) Its about the end result.

Also, I think peoples versions of "hot" differs, quite drastically in some cases.

Ok
Lets change the parameters slightly.
Show me a model that earns R500,000.00 per year in SA that does not look HOT.

I think its the objectification of the model. Ive said jokingly before the difference between an artist and a pervert is that an artist creates his own porn.

I have a theory, and I am interested in seeing if it holds out, that at any given moment in time, a lady can either be " beautiful" or "hot", but not both at the same time.

Gospel according to Gerry: beauty is better than hot. "Hot" is a base-emotion, the basis for the existence of FHM. "Hot" requires no effort on the part of the male. Beauty is more cerebral. It takes a lot more effort to be, and appreciate, beautiful than it does to be and appreciate hot.

Stir stir.

Gerry even you are guilty of this. You have made reference to "real women" in the past as opposed to "models". This implies that models are not real women and therefore are objects.

I am of course referring to the debate about certain fashion magazines now using "real women" instead of models.

Ok I'll bite. If beauty and hotness are both relevant to the observer then your statement that "that at any given moment in time, a lady can either be " beautiful" or "hot", but not both at the same time" is false as it is statistically imporbably that with 7bn people on Earth there is not at least 1 that will find pure beauty to be hot.

Just because it's a statistical improbability, it does not mean its impossible (or "false"). This planet existing is a statistical improbability. Yet, here we are.

Stirring continued below:

I am still to find a lady who is both "beautiful" and "hot" at the same time. The two concepts are (on the face of it) mutually exclusive. I'd love to see photographic evidence proving me wrong. And even if I am wrong, I still think that the concept of "hot" is a much more base-reaction that beauty. "Hot" can be implied as "you are masturbatory material", whereas beauty makes no such assumption, beauty is just to be admired. Hot moves the loins. Beauty moves the soul. Show me a picture where both happen at the same time. I'd love to see it!

Actually, taken into account the vastness of the universe and the innumerable solar systems it is imprabable that we are the onloy planet with life on it.

I am still to find a lady who is both "beautiful" and "hot" at the same time.

Yes, YOU are still to find and as you previously stated beauty and hotness are relevant to the observer. Just because a specific statement is true, reletive to your own subjective observations, does not make it universaally true. you cannot use a subjective test as basis for an objective theory.

When you are in love the lady in question usually fullfills both these requirements at the same time. Not true?
