Rate per shoot

What is a reasonable rate for a model to be paid to do a shoot.

I have had a great response for doing TFCD, but i would like to try some "different" styles and would like to hire a model or two to do this...

If any one can give a indication it would be great.

Easy answer 2) depends on what you want to do and what the image usage is for. You'll pay a model a lot more for nudie pics in a national magazine than you'll pay her for some lighting tests in your garage that will enver leave your hard drive.

I would say here on MB R250 an hour? More for nude?

90% of MB shoots are TFCD or the photographer dictates rates.

The not so hot model can pay the photographer.

If the model is hot, its okay, I've got air conditioning.

(personally, I find it offensive when models are prefaced with the adjective "hot" - espcially by a photographer - it cheapens the model and the shoot)

Beauty is in the eye of the beer-holder, I've shot some ladies I thought were drop-dead gorgeous which other togs thought were dogs... and I'm sure vice-versa.

I guess it boils down to values - different people find different things "good-looking". We all look for something different in models.

Gerry there are some people that should NOT model nude ... like me. There there are people who were born to model nude ... like Haniki :P

The reality is the glamour, fashion and advertising industries set the standard of what is generally considered to be "hot" or "desirable".

We might openly rebel and say "That is crap, everyone is beautiful" but the truth of the matter is how many people buy fashion magazines with "joe-Ann Public" in them? Very few. the vast majority of people buy fashion magazines with desireable people in them.

When last have you seen a male model with a beer belly in a magazine?

Might not be very PC but it is reality. No-one looks at a guy like me and say "OMW I want to jump hm" (exzcept my wife lol) but millions of people want to jump Brad Pitt (including my wife lol). Why? Because he is hot and I am not. Simple!!!
