About JACQUES ATIVO

I am a 22 year old qualified photographer who grew up in Bloemfontein (contradicting to popular belief, this place is AWESOME), then went on to study in Cape Town(Got my Btec in Professorial Photography and Design at Prestige Academy in Cape Town) and now living in Johannesburg (working as a Logistics manager), so I have been around the block and have experienced a lot of different people in different cities, thus my love for people.

To summarize, I learnt to be South African in Bloem, got my love for fashion in Cape Town and joined the rat race and working class in Jo'burg.

I've been into photography for about 7 years now and have only started to work on my fashion now recently. I have retired from my photography for about 6 months after I lost 2 years worth of work (according to me the best 2 years), but I'm back with fresh ideas!!!! My portfolio will grow over time, watch this space.

Currently I am co-founder and -owner (along with Kevin Boshoff #21446) of Ativo studios, based in Randburg

I have worked with Gerrit du Toit (F8 images) on the Fedisa Fashion Design Schools' Graduation show and portfolio shoots.

Had images published in Ideas magazine and ELLE. Worked with Jan Ras and Francois Oberholze at Ideas

Would consider to do some TFCD shoots to help out models and makeup artists to build portfolio, because I know what it is like to get started and I would love to make it easier for them. Only if it is to build my portfolio as well!
