About Derek van der Merwe

I am a photographer, not because I have cameras, but because I have grown up to be one.

Photography is my work and life, so I made photographing women my hobby. This aspect of my photography has always been the cherry on the cake, it remains untarnished and unaffected by the creative ideas of clients/art directors. It remains the single most rewarding and inspiring aspect of my photography, also the most challenging and complex.

I am here to find models, an essential ingredient in the process of creating images that will enrich the minds of those viewing it, those not fortunate enough to express their emotions through lenses. I'd like to share my knowledge and experience with other photographers and learn from all involved.

My thanks to the genius who came up with the idea of this site.
