About Brush Blush makeup
My name is RAEESA ALLIE, a freelance makeup artist and hairstylist based in Cape Town, South Africa.
From a young age I always imagined myself having a career in the creative field. After finishing high school, I enroled at AFDA (South African School of Live Performance and Motion Picture Medium) in 2007 to study animation. I had a choice of 3 more subjects one of which was production design. Whilst on set and also doing my production design projects, I worked closely with the costume makeup and styling students and it is then that I discovered my innate ability to express my artistic talents in makeup artistry.
After two years at AFDA i decided to leave and further my studies in the wonderful world of makeup artistry. I attended The Make-up Issue in Cape Town, studying under the expert guidance of Abie Viljoen and Mareli Serfontein. After completing my studies I had this desire to learn more and improve my skills, I then completed a course in hairstyling techniques at The Academy of Cosmotology under the talented Teresa Le Roux.
So now I am on a new journey. One of discovery. Not only self-discovery but of helping others discover their own beauty...
